Las Vegas' official esports team led NASCAR 26 fastest-lap challenges for UNLV students, interviewed NASCAR Cup Series driver Riley Herbst, and heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, Oct. 4
LAS VEGAS, Oct. 2, 2026 - Vegas Inferno, the official esports team of Las Vegas, joined TOYOTA RACING for its College Tour stop at University of Nevada-Las Vegas on Thursday, Oct. 1. Inferno's sim racers anchored the NASCAR 26 Gaming Lounge in the Student Union Courtyard from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., challenging students to fastest-lap runs and sharing tips and tricks for finding more speed.
The College Tour stop also featured NASCAR Cup Series and 23XI Racing driver Riley Herbst , and Vegas Inferno interviewed Herbst on site. At 2:15 p.m., Inferno's drivers took part in a Q&A session about what it takes to compete in esports and sim racing.
Inferno's lineup for the day included Dean "Deano" Heldt, Inferno's professional sim racing driver; Jackson Holder, an Inferno academy driver and UNLV student; and Matthew Jackson (King Kryptix), an F1 content creator and sim racer. The team captured content of students racing and competing throughout the day to share across Vegas Inferno's channels.
The UNLV stop leads directly into NASCAR race weekend in Las Vegas. On Sunday, Oct. 4, Vegas Inferno will be at the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, running racing sims at the TOYOTA RACING Experience from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fans can race against Inferno drivers in fastest-lap challenges and pick up tips from the team.
"Getting UNLV students behind the wheel next to TOYOTA RACING was a special day for us. Our drivers put in real hours on the sim, and sharing that with students, and getting time with a Cup Series driver like Riley Herbst, is what Vegas Inferno is all about. Now we're taking that energy to the Speedway on Sunday, and we want Las Vegas to come race us," said Jairo Urcuyo , founder and CEO of Vegas Inferno.
